A 25-year-old woman is seen by her primary care medical provider for a routine appointment. She has never had genital warts or a cervical cytology test, but her previous sexual partner had penile warts. She has no genitourinary symptoms but is worried she is infected with human papillomavirus (HPV) and is concerned that she will pass this infection on to future partners. She has not previously received any doses of any HPV vaccine.
