A 25-year-old woman is evaluated in the emergency department with a report of having been sexually assaulted approximately 8 hours prior. She denies dysuria, vaginal discharge, or genital lesions. Pelvic examination is negative for cervical motion tenderness, discharge, lacerations, or discharge.
